Jam Night Term 1

"The Best One Yet"

These words were repeated by a number of audience members at our first Jam Night of 2023 on Saturday April 1st. With 20 performances including soloists, bands and Choirs, it was a night to remember.

For the first time we opened the show with our 'Voices On The Pass' Adult Choir performing Whitney Houston's 'How Will I Know', lead by teacher Phoebe Robertson and backed by the teacher band of Adam, Marcella and Nick.

From there we were treated to performances from students of all ages performing their favourite songs from the past term, original songs and some students event teamed up to perform pairs/in groups with their teachers!

There was also some comedy to the night, with the drummer from one of the bands running late Eliette and Nick took to the mic to tell the story of a story of Eliette's on the fly story telling from the 'Band Night' two days earlier, featuring a story of her overcoming her fear of riding bikes and trying not to slip on rocks in the Coromandel...sometimes even Eliette runs out of music/academy stories to talk about!

The night was then closed with another first, with both Albany and Grafton's Choir's coming together for a funky version of Harry Styles 'As It Was'.

An amazing night with our EMA Families and as always we were so proud of everyone who got up perform.

We can't wait for our next Jam Night!
