5 Reasons Regular Performance is Valuable:

Jam Night is right around the corner and so we thought we’d highlight why regular performance is important for musicians

1. Practice your craft.

Just like songwriting, painting and drawing on the daily is important when it comes to perfecting your craft, performing regularly helps you to get comfortable in front of an audience and shake those performance jitters.

2. Try new things!

Try that joke that you've been practicing in front of the mirror. Test out your stage banter and audience involvement! Try that new dance move you thought might work. This is your opportunity to give anything a go in a safe environment in front of other peers, musicians, teachers, your family and friends.

3. Songwriting

Have a new song you've written but have no place to share it? Our open mic is the perfect place to share!

4. Goals

It's so important to set regular goals. Working towards a regular performance brings to life what you not only practice in your lesson but also over the course of the term.

5. Performance skills

Its not easy to get up on stage and a lot of us suffer from stage and performance anxiety - it's completely normal. However the more you perform and the more regular you do it, the easier it gets!

Jam Night for Term 2 is the 9th of July and will be held at our Grafton Campus - Level 1, 181 Khyber Pass Road.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for children and ticket sales are donated to our Charitable Trust, The Green Room

We look forward to seeing everyone next week!
