Holiday Programme for September/October 2019

Wondering how to keep your kids entertained these holidays? Hoping you can stimulate them and give them lasting memories and skills while keeping your sanity? We’ve got you covered! Band and drum programs for juniors and seniors, musical theatre and a songwriters course. Read all about ‘em below!

Enrolment will be confirmed only once payment has been received. All school holiday programmes operate subject to sufficient enrolments being received.

Band Programmes*

Learn what it takes to jam in a band. Workshop covers, write originals and enjoy making music together. Broken into junior and senior age groups.

"HOW GOOD WOULD IT BE TO BE MICK JAGGER?!"

This workshop will at least reduce the 10,000 hours it takes to become Mick by a good 2 days. On a serious note, it's just very satisfying to make music with others. We see the students grow enormously in a relatively short time. We work towards a short performance at the end of each workshop.

*Requirements: At least a year of tuition

Band Juniors : Ages 8-12

SEPT 30 & OCT 1, 9:30AM - 3PM

Band Seniors : Ages 13-17

Musical Theatre

Into The Woods - A Musical

OCTOBER 7-10, 9AM - 3PM

AGES: 7-14

These school holidays we are putting on the musical "Into The Woods". The main characters are taken from "Little Red Riding Hood", "Jack and the Beanstalk", "Rapunzel", and "Cinderella", and others. The musical is tied together by a story involving a childless baker and his wife and their quest to begin a family (the original beginning of The Grimm Brothers' "Rapunzel"), their interactions with a witch who has placed a curse on them, and with other storybook characters during their journey.

Run by the fabulous Melanie Fraser, we are so excited about this show. You won't want to miss out!

Songwriting Workshop

Songwriting

OCTOBER 10 & 11, 9:30AM - 3PM

AGES: 12-18

"Well, baby used to stay out all night long, She made me cry, she done me wrong, She hurt my eyes open, that's no lie”

It might take a little more than this workshop to come up with lyrics like that, for those of you who don't know, it's the first verse of "It's All Over Now" by the Rolling stones.

You have to start somewhere and this is the best way to do it! Run by the very talented Teia Kennedy, she'll scratch the surface of what it takes to write a good song. Covering structure, lyrics, chords, hooks, and riffs.

Day 2 is spent recording your song to take home.
